Lightlab  Performance Series is an artist-run performance series that provides platforms for diverse voices in experimental performance. Founded in 2013 by Taylor Knight and David Bernabo and now curated with Anna Thompson, Lightlab is an event series meant to encourage local dance and performance artists to experiment with form, composition, improvisation, and context. Over four years and 16 events with local and national artists, the series continues to present experiments and has expanded to include music performance, video screenings, and art lectures. In late 2014 and early 2015, a residency program was introduced, offering out of town performers rehearsal space and an opportunity to perform their work at a Lightlab event at the end of the residency week, further connecting local and national artists.

Lightlab would like to thank The Space Upstairs, Murray Horne and The Cultural Trust, and the Miller Gallery for donating performance spaces. Lightlab is a self-sustaining, self-funded performance series.
